Players that are successful in poker have put in hundreds of thousands or millions of hands. They've seen many more situations and have experienced a ton of bad beats, which makes them develop an instinctual edge on the tables, but also in the mental game.
Strong poker players stay in control of their emotions. It's incredibly important to make your decisions based on logic as much as possible. The nature of poker means that you WILL experience many bad beats throughout your carreer.
You will lose having 98% or equity to win the pot. In any case, you have to be able to stay focused and not drift into a volatile state of emotion where you are basing your decision on fear or anger.
